At Luceda we have a flat hierarchy. This is on purpose, we encourage everyone to take part in taking and executing decisions. So rather than climbing the hierarchy we support you in taking more ownership and developing yourself. If you like interacting with customers you could for example start giving trainings or help customers with specific requests or if you have an interest in continuous integration, you could take ownership of this. For people with passion and ideas there are plenty of growth opportunities at Luceda. To help you in your personal growth, we provide a mix of individual and collective trainings. In addition we try to learn as a team by organizing knowledge sharing sessions.

You should apply for this position when you are willing to learn and want to be seen as a valuable team member, where your opinion counts and where you are listened to.
The first conversation will be mainly informal. We get to know you and you get to know Luceda Photonics. In addition to the personal aspect, an initial technical screening is also included.
As founder, I wanted to get the technology spun out of the university and go on an exciting journey, trying to make an impact in the world of integrated photonics. Our flexibility, empowerment and human-centric approach make Luceda a very fun and appealing place to work. You get to work at the forefront of the very exciting and high-tech field of integrated photonics, which will have an impact on our lives in many different ways (from fast internet, faster computers, to medical, …).
In my spare time I like reading, climbing and (occasionally) windsurfing and sailing. I started working at Luceda because I wanted a technical challenge. Why do you have to start working at Luceda? It’s a diverse and challenging job on the crossroads of science, product development and fabrications and when you’re eager to learn about science and want to work in an international market, you will fit in the team.
I like to watch movies and tv shows, read comics and play games in my spare time. I have been working at Luceda for a year now and I recommend working here because it’s a great, yet challenging environment.
I started working at Luceda because I really believed in its mission – becoming the EDA tool for photonics. I like to spend my spare time together with my family. In addition, I like to cook and I like to be in the garden. Luceda has really exciting customers. For people with a photonics background it is a great place where you can hedge on your knowledge in photonics and work in an exciting business.
As I single mom, there is always something to do 🙂 The remaining free time is spent by going to the movies, attending a concert, going to a restaurant once in a while and occasionally some away-time. I started working here because it’s a relatively small business, but growing nicely. There is a very open, nice, good atmosphere and they offered me a new start. Another plus: it’s near where I live. I would recommend Luceda to others because Luceda has an international character, in terms of both colleagues and contacts, lots of chance to learn and grow. A very nice atmosphere. Dendermonde is fairly centrally located and easily reachable by train/car.
I’ve always loved the boundary between software and hardware and sending light through wires smaller than a hair still fascinates me a lot. Starting a new company in exactly those areas was a logical choice for me. Why do you have to start working here? Being able to work directly with customers at the crossroads of many technical aspects and providing them with concrete solutions is fascinating. In my spare time, I like to play (classical) music, tennis and gardening.
